KCR Ignoring Mothkupalli Again!

KCR Ignoring Mothkupalli Again!

Strange are the ways of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Nobody knows when he showers love and affection on someone and when he discards the same person.

We have seen how KCR dumped popular Vaishnavaite seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy within days of prostrating before him at the latter’s Muchintal ashram.

He did not attend the inauguration of Sri Ramanujacharya statue, which he had propagated in the media several times and subsequently avoided Jeeyar Swamy’s all the remaining programmes.

And he did not even invite Jeeyar Swamy to the inauguration of the renovated Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, though it was the seer who fixed muhurtam for reopening of the temple and gave the schedule for all the rituals.

This blow-hot-blow-cold attitude of KCR has caused embarrassment to many leaders, who have now realised that nobody can claim he is closer to the chief minister; anybody can anytime be dropped like hot potato by KCR.

Same is the fate of former minister and Dalit leader Mothkupalli Narasimhulu. Till a few months ago, Narasimhulu was given the impression that he was a right hand of KCR. Even before he was formally admitted into the TRS, KCR gave him a lot of importance.

He gave a seat adjacent to him at the preparatory meeting on the implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme at Pragathi Bhavan in October last year, though there were other senior leaders of the party in the meeting.

This led to the talk that Mothkupalli would be rewarded with a prominent position in the party and a post in the government, such as chairman of Dalit Bandhu Samanvaya Samithi on the lines of Rythu Bandhu.

KCR also took Mothkupalli along with him to Yadadri temple to inspect the ongoing works for renovation of temple in the same month.

Though Mothkupalli hails from the same area, KCR explained to him how he was developing the temple, as if he was an outsider.

All the newspapers prominently carried the picture of Mothkupalli with KCR, leading to the speculation that the Dalit leader would get a big position in the party.

Apparently, KCR thought Mothkupalli’s entry would help mobilisation of Dalit votes in Huzurabad by-election.

But after the TRS faced a humiliating defeat in the Huzurabad by-election, KCR has started ignoring Mothkupalli.

Now, he has no entry into Pragathi Bhavan as he had till a few months ago. And there is no talk in the party about KCR giving a prominent post to Mothkupalli.

What is more shocking to Mothkupalli was that he was not allowed to enter the Yadadri temple complex when it was being inaugurated by KCR on March 28.

While all the TRS MLAs, ministers and their family members could come to the function, Mothkupalli was not allowed by the security people anywhere near the chief minister.

After waiting for some time, a visibly humiliated Mothkupalli left the place. Now, it will be interesting to see what he will do now.

Maybe he will bear all these insults, hoping that KCR might give him MLA ticket in the next elections.
