KCR gives nod to speed up cash-for-vote case?

It appears the noose is gradually tightening around Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in cash-for-vote case.

According to latest reports doing rounds in the media circles, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who has been protecting his Andhra Pradesh counterpart all these years, has given nod to the Anti-Corruption Bureau authorities to expedite the case and prosecute Naidu.

It is learnt Governor E S L Narasimhan, who made a brief visit to New Delhi last week, submitted a complete dossier to the Centre on the cash-for-vote case along with evidences collected against Naidu.

The top bosses in Delhi reportedly told Narasimhan to prevail upon KCR to expedite the ACB case against Naidu, failing which it would have to open the CBI cases against the Telangana chief minister as well.

Soon after his return from Delhi, the Governor called KCR to Raj Bhavan and explained the situation. Though reluctant, KCR was forced to agree to speed up the case against Naidu.

Accordingly, he reportedly issues orders to the ACB authorities. Moreover, it would help the Telangana chief minister to settle scores with Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy, who had become thorn in his flesh.

However, the Telangana ACB authorities would go cautiously in dealing with the case as it involved the chief minister of the neighbouring state.

It has to follow the procedures as per the Constitutional norms before considering arrest of Naidu or others, say sources.
