Justice Delayed Is Justice Denied

Justice Delayed Is Justice Denied

It took 22 years for the Courts to find Yakub Memon guilty and even today, a day ahead of his scheduled hanging, a plea is being heard by the Judiciary regarding his case.

In the meantime, every Tom, Dick and Harry from every walk of life in India is signing the mercy petition for Yakub Menon, conscientious people whose contribution to the nation is debatable.

We fed and nourished Kasab for a long time in jail, making him a hero of sorts to forces antagonistic to India.

Had the case of Kasab dragged on for another year, mercy petitions would have been signed for him as well.

And now Yasin Bhatkal, the ‘Dilsukhnagar blasts’ accused is making a mockery of the system with his claims of escaping from custody with ISI help and by throwing chits into the public every time that he is taken to court.

The cases of terrorists at least should not be allowed to drag on or eternity like. The longer that justice is delayed in sentencing these people, the longer is justice denied for the victims. Apart from making these terrorists a role model to their brethren.
