Quite often, there have been speculations in the media about the possible entry of popular Tollywood hero and firebrand actor Junior N T Rama Rao into active politics of Andhra Pradesh, but he has been keeping away from all such speculations.
Yet, people try to read between his occasional comments and filmy dialogues to spread the rumours that he is indeed contemplating entering into politics.
They say NTR is waiting for a right opportunity to take such a decision; as he doesn’t want to end up a flop show in politics.
Now, there are fresh speculations about NTR’s political plans.
During the pre-release event of his latest film War-2, he said: “At long as I have the blessings of my late grandfather Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, no one can stop me.”
This line has sparked a political talk yet again. Analysts say his intense expressions, confident tone, and recent demeanour are signs that he may be moving toward politics.
In the past, Jr NTR campaigned for the Telugu Desam Party but later distanced himself.
Whether he was sidelined or chose to step away remains unclear. Recent developments, however, hint at a shift.
Nara Lokesh tweeted in support of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film Coolie, but not about NTR’s film War-2.
On the other hand, NTR fans in Vijayawada have put up banners reading “CM NTR,” suggesting growing talk of a political role.
Analysts also point out to a dialogue of NTR from War-2: “No need to use someone and then set them aside,” seen as a reference to his 2009 TDP campaign experience.
Another dialogue: “If you hurt a man’s ego, he will go to any length,” also hints at personal grievances with the TDP.
Many believe that if Jr NTR does enter politics, he might even revive his grandfather’s party under the banner “NTR Telugu Desam,” much as Jagan Mohan Reddy founded YSR Congress.
Such a move would energize both his fans and political analysts.
