Jampanna to join TRS, contest polls?

Top Maoist leader Jinugu Narasimha Reddy alias Jampanna, who recently surrendered to the Telangana police, is most likely to get into electoral politics, if the rumours doing rounds in the political circles are to be believed.

Jampanna surrendered to the police through his former associate and present Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLC Konda Murali and his MLA wife Konda Surekha from Warangal East.

Unlike in the case of other surrendered Maoists, the TRS government gave him royal treatment and let him off to his village.

According to the political speculations, Jampanna may soon join the TRS and get active in the politics before elections.

It is learnt Konda couple brought Jampanna into the political mainstream to checkmate their arch rival within the TRS Errabelli Dayakar Rao.

Their plan is to see that Jampanna contests from Palakurthy assembly constituency in place of Errabelli, who might be shunted to Jangaon or some other constituency.

Having a lot of support in the rural areas of Warangal, Jampanna is believed to be an asset for the TRS, if he contests the polls.

However, he also has a lot of enemies in the police as well as the Maoist party and there is every possibility that he might become a target for either of them.

People still remember how another dreaded Maoist Konapuri Ailaiah alias Sambasivudu had to fall to the bullets of his rivals, after he joined the TRS!
