Hitherto, we have witnessed the Telugu Desam Party leaders in Andhra and Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders in Telangana displaying their power by attacking the employees of toll plazas on national highways in the last couple of years.
Now, it is the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Andhra Pradesh to show their aggressive behaviour. On Monday, BJP general secretary of AP unit Nannapareddy Suresh Reddy created hulchul at a toll gate on national highway in Nellore district.
The car convoy of Reddy was crossing Swarna Toll Plaza when the toll gate staff stopped and insisted to pay toll tax in Nellore district. Infuriated BJP leader abused the toll gate staff and also asked his followers to attack. They broke down gates and smashed window panes. The staff was also assaulted.
The management of toll gate demanded for compensation for damaging the furniture. When the BJP leader turned down, toll gate security officials lodged a complaint with police who registered a case against Reddy and seven others.
The management said those who possessed free passes are only exempted from toll gate fee. Security staff also submitted CCTV footage to police as a proof.
Apparently, the BJP leaders want to prove that they are also growing independently and by indulging in such acts, they want to establish their identity!
