Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has made every effort to cash in on the stupendous performance of badminton star P V Sindhu in Olympics and winning silver medal.
He claimed that it was because of his magnanimity in allotting five acres of land to her coach Pullela Gopichand at Gachibowli that Sindhu was able to win the silver medal at Olympics.
Naidu has role ended with allotment of land at Gachibowli to the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy, but according to former Congress MP G V Harsh Kumar, it was Naidu’s successor late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy who had extended all help to Gopichand to establish the academy.
“It was during the YSR regime that the Gopichand Academy had taken the shape. Late YSR had waived the development fee of Rs 1.2 crore for the Academy and provided all the facilities free of cost,” he pointed out.
The former MP said it was surprising that Naidu wanted to take credit even for the growth of Satya Nadella as the CEO of Microsoft.
“He should feel ashamed with the kind of reactions he has been getting in social media for his false claims,” he said.
