The YSRCP has announced that it will be contesting the by polls in Warangal. But the party is hard pressed to find a candidate for the constituency which is a reserved one.
With the TRS clearly the frontrunner, the fight is expected to be between them and the TDP-BJP combine. Both the TRS and the Congress have announced their candidates are actively canvassing already.
Which gives rise to the question: is YSRCP really serious about Warangal election?
The TDP alleges that YSRCP has jumped into the fray only to split the TDP-BJP votes and thereby facilitate a TRS victory.
There might be truth in their allegations. But if Jagan is really serious about establishing a foothold in Telangana, then the forthcoming election is an excellent opportunity.
YSR had many fans in Warangal who benefitted because of his schemes and Jagan should make use of the opportunity to consolidate this goodwill in Telangana instead of just trying to work for the defeat of Naidu.
