TDP’s senior leader and official spokesperson Revanth Reddy was conspicuous by his absence at Mahanadu.
Similarly, another senior leader and ex minister Tummala Nageswara Rao also chose to stay away from the meet. Incidentally, due to in-fighting between two groups in TDP, Tummala lost in Khammam. Similarly, Nama Nageswara Rao who headed the other faction too lost in the recently concluded elections. It is being assumed that Tummala decided to stay away from Mahanadu due to these differences.
On the other hand, Revanth Reddy once again won from Kodangal. But it has been widely reported that he was eyeing the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat.
After seeking permission from TDP head Chandra Babu Naidu, Revanth also did the necessary ground work in Malkajgiri. But in the last moment, Chandra Babu picked Malla Reddy who owns a chain of educational institutions for Malkajgiri.
Naturally, Revanth Reddy was not happy with the decision. His absence at Mahanadu clearly indicates that he took Babu’s decision to heart and chose not to attend the TDP’s annual meet.
