Telangana opposition leader Jana Reddy seems to be uncomfortable playing his new role.
He has been a minister in various governments for a very long time, though he also sat in the opposition for five years. But at the time, he was not the opposition floor leader. So, he did not have a problem.
Now he is the opposition leader in Assembly. Either he has to understand what’s on the mind of Congress members or he must make sure that they abide by his decisions.
It is obvious that he is unable to do either of them. Many feel that he did not do the needful to stop party defections like in the case of Jeevan Reddy.
Similarly, though Jana Reddy approved a Congress MLA’s suggestion that they must fight for the pension issue, he agreed for SLBC discussion and many members are not happy with his decision.
Well, Jana Reddy is trying to play the role of an ‘elder’ and play the part of an opposition leader. Many in political circles feel Jana Reddy can’t have the cake and eat it too.
