Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday made a strange comment that he was cheated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The Prime Minister has cheated everybody in the country. Unfortunately, I was also one among those who were cheated by him. He has betrayed everybody, including me,” he said.
Naidu was speaking at the launch of third phase of Chandranna Bima scheme in Amaravati. He used the occasion to take a dig at Narendra Modi.
“During the four-years of Modi rule, the country has gone down in every field. The agriculture sector is in deep crisis. Unemployment has gone to its peak,” he said.
Describing Modi as the talking chief minister Naidu said nobody could stop Modi if he took the mike.
“He talks endlessly, but at the end of the day, there is nothing substantial in his speech. It is just empty talk and in reality, nothing materialises on ground.
You have seen how the demonetisation drive has failed. People still continue to stand in front of ATM centres to draw their own money,” he said.
The question however is how anybody can cheat Naidu.
“He is an expert in cheating others. Whatever he said about Narendra Modi is in fact applicable to Naidu. He doesn’t deliver anything that he promises.
He hoodwinked the people for four years saying he was bringing special financial package to Andhra Pradesh which he said was better than the special category status.
Now, after realising that the people’s sentiment towards special category status is strong, he changed his tune and is cheating the people again by taking up the demand,” an opposition party leader said.
