HC order against KCR, a shock to Naidu, too!

The Hyderabad High Court’s order on Wednesday directing Telangana Assembly speaker S Madhusudhana Chary to take action against the MLAs who defected to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi, is believed to be a slap on the face of not only Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao but also his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu.

The High Court ordered that the Speaker take action on the disqualification of the MLAs who defected to the TRS within 90 days.

The court was acting on the petition filed by TDP legislator A Revanth Reddy, who questioned the bulletin issued by Assembly Secretary on March 10 stating that Telangana Telugu Desam Legislature Party has been merged into the TRS.

He wanted that the High Court to declare the bulletin null and void as it did not take into cognizance the complaints against the 12 defected MLAs.

If the Speaker doesn’t disqualify the defected MLAs, it amounts to contempt of court and it remains to be seen what answer the Speaker gives before the court.

This judgement is also applicable to Chandababu Naidu, who lured 20 MLAs from YSR Congress party into the TDP by allegedly paying them huge money and promising them posts.

If the YSR Congress party moves a petition, the AP assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao also would have to act on the disqualification of defectors, say experts.
