Has KCR Softened His Stand On Cong?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seems to have realised that it is not so easy to form the federal front exclusively with regional parties, completely avoiding the Congress party.

After interacting with heads of various regional parties till now, KCR is learnt to have softened his stand on the Congress party.

All these leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, Hemanth Soren, M K Stalin, Deve Gowda and now Akhilesh Yadav, reportedly indicated that involvement of the Congress party was unavoidable, if they have to pull down Narendra Modi from power.

That was precisely why KCR told media in Chennai early this week that he was not averse to the Congress joining the front.

On Wednesday, too, he told the media after talks with Akhilesh that nobody was untouchable for the proposed federal front.

“Anybody can join. For us, no party is untouchable. We will keep our options open,” he said.

He asked the media not to look at his initiative in a political angle.

“The federal front is not a mere coalition of political parties for the sake of 2019 elections. It is a very serious and big initiative,” he said.
