Has Ganta Finally Understood the Situation?

Former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao is known as a smart and strategic politician.

In his 25-year political career, he earned the reputation of a leader who rarely loses. Whatever goal he sets, he usually achieves it with careful planning.

He has been elected once as MP, five times as MLA, and served as a minister twice for a total of seven years.

In the 2024 elections, the TDP-led alliance came to power in Andhra Pradesh. Ganta won from Bheemili with a huge majority.

Many expected that he would definitely become a minister. But he did not get a place in the cabinet. Even during ticket allotment, the party made him wait till the last phase.

At one point, there were even rumours that he was asked to contest from Cheepurupalli in Vizianagaram district. Finally, he got the Bheemili ticket, won the seat, but still did not become a minister.

Looking at the political and social calculations of the coalition government, and also the internal equations in Visakhapatnam district, many believe that Ganta may not get a minister post even in a future cabinet expansion.

After understanding all these factors, Ganta seems to have made up his mind.

For the next three years, he plans to stay close to the people and prepare the political future of his son, Raviteja, who is seen as his successor.

Ganta is reportedly planning not to contest the 2029 elections and instead make his son the candidate from Bheemili. He wants to strengthen Bheemili as their family’s own strong constituency.

This is why Ganta is staying quiet and doing his work without creating any noise, while his son Raviteja is showing more political activity and aggression.
