Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu might not have fully understood the impact of Goods and Services Tax which came into force all over the country from Friday midnight and might not know how it would benefit the consumers, but his daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani seems to be well-prepared for the same.
Within hours of the GST coming into force, Brahmani, who is now executive director of her family enterprise Heritage Foods, quickly announced that the company was reducing the price of Heritage Milk supplied to consumers with effect from Saturday.
It clearly showed her business acumen and it would definitely fetch her the faith of more and more consumers.
At the GST Day celebrations held at Hyderabad, Brahmani said she was happy to represent the corporate stakeholder in the whole chain.
She said the GST system was increasingly becoming a global trend with 160 countries already a part of the regime and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision - GST reform will increase the ease of doing business in India.
Brahmani welcomed the GST by calling it a great tax reform for the country and appealed to the people not to be worried with the implementation adding that GST would benefit the companies, government and the customers.
