Finally, Jagan Sets Deadline For Modi!

At last, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has decided to go all out on his demand for special category status to Andhra Pradesh, thereby pushing both the Telugu Desam Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party to the corner.

Jagan on Tuesday set April 6 as the deadline to Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre for granting special category status to AP.

If there is no announcement from the Centre in this regard, all the YSRC MPs would tender their resignation from their parliamentary membership on the same day.

Jagan made this announcement in full public while addressing a massive rally at Kalikiri in Nellore district.

“The budget session of Parliament, which is resuming on March 5, will continue till April 6. Our party MPs will continue their fight all through the session to bring pressure on the Centre to grant special category status to AP.

If there is no response from the Centre even after our best efforts, the YSRC MPs will throw their resignation letters on their (Centre’s) face and come back,” Jagan said.

Jagan said the party would adopt the slogan of “Hoda mana hakku, package tho mosapovaddu” (Special category status is our right; don’t get cheated with special financial package).

On March 1, our party leaders and cadre would lay siege to all the Collector offices in the state and also at the Chief Minister’s Office in Vijayawada demanding that the state give up its decision to accept the special package of funds but demand special category status.

“On March 3, I will flag off our MPs’ journey to New Delhi with the slogan demanding special category status to AP.

On March 5, when the Parliament reassembles for budget session, the YSRC MPs would lead a march of more than a thousand Andhra people from Ektha Sthal to the Parliament for a protest before the Parliament House,” he said.
