Fifth TDP MLA From Hyd Joins TRS Along With Cong MLC!

Telugu Desam party in Telangana received yet another major blow from ruling Telangana Rastra Samiti on Thursday.

TDP Secunderabad Contonment MLA G Sayanna joined TRS in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at CM's camp office in Begumpet.

Sayanna is a four-time MLA from TDP and his exit from the party just before GHMC elections is being viewed as a major loss to TDP.

Sayanna tendered his resignation to the TDP primary membership.

TDP chief and AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu desperately tried to retain Sayanna in TDP after other four TDP MLAs from GHMC limts Talasani Srinivas Yadav (Sanathnagar), Teegala Krishna Reddy (Maheshwaram), Manchireddy Kishan Reddy (Ibrahimpatnam) and Madhavaram Krishna Rao (Kukatpally) defected to TRS.

Babu even offered Tirumal Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) board member post to Sayanna.

However, all this failed to stop Sayanna from quitting TDP to join TRS. Sayanna also resigned for TTD post.

The Congress, which too lost few of its MLAs to ruling TRS for the last few months, lost its another MLC S Prabhakar.

TRS key leader and irrigation minister T Harish Rao is said to have played a key role in engineering both these splits in TDP and Congress.

Interestingly, both the defected leaders claimed to have joined TRS to support the efforts of Telangana CM KCR in achieving "Bangaru Telangana".

They said only KCR has the capacity to turn Telangana into a golden state with his able leadership. They said there were also attracted by KCR's welfare schemes and development programmes for the welfare of all sections of society besides making Hyderabad a 'global city'.
