Fact Sheet: Look Who's Talking!

Mohammad Azharuddin has asked the judiciary to interfere and scrap the recent elections to the Hyderabad Cricket Association, stating that they were not held in conformity to rules.

Incidentally, Azhar had applied to contest as President of the Association, but his nomination was rejected by returning officer Rajeev Reddy as Azhar had failed to give a satisfactory explanation on whether the BCCI ban on him in the wake of the match-fixing scandal was lifted and that he failed to provide adequate proof that he was enrolled as a voter.

Azharuddin spoke to the media and terming the HCA election as a farce, said it was unfortunate that when the BCCI was looking the cleanse the sport of unwanted elements, the HCA elections were held which was against the spirit of the Board’s mission. If the Board really wanted to cleanse the sport of unwanted elements, then Azharuddin should be the last person to be in the fray.

The people of India showered their love and affection on him. He was made captain of the Indian cricket team but backstabbed the trust of the nation by fixing matches.

Responding to allegations, Azhar had then said that he was being targeted because he was from a minority community.

The Congress party made this great person an MP i.e. a person accused of match-fixing would now make laws for the people of India. How more ironical can it get?
