Equations in AP to change soon, says Mekapati

It looks like the time is up for the alliance of the Telugu Desam Party with Bharatiya Janata Party soon and the YSR Congress party is likely to step into the shoes of the TDP.

It was evident form the statements of the TDP leaders as well as YSR Congress party leaders on Thursday.

“Very soon, political equations in Andhra Pradesh are going change and we will get an opportunity to speak up and get our demands fulfilled,” YSRC Lok Sabha member from Nellore Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said in Delhi, soon after the adjournment of the House.

Mekapati said the TDP had forged an alliance with the BJP for its personal gains.

“We are not going to do like that. Like Chandrababu Naidu, we don’t crave for power. We get our demands fulfilled through legitimate means.” He said.

On the other hand, TDP leaders hinted that they were ready to say good bye to the alliance with the BJP.

“It is pretty evident that the BJP-led NDA government is showing step-motherly attitude towards Andhra Pradesh. For us interests of the state are paramount and to achieve them, we are ready to give up the alliance with the BJP,” state HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said.

Another minister P Narayana also indicated that Union ministers Sujana Chowdary and Ashok Gajapathi Raju might resign from their posts in a day or two.

So, watch out for fresh developments in this space!
