Eatala Being Isolated In Huzurabad?

Former Telangana health minister and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for the ensuing by-elections in Huzurabad assembly constituency Eatala Rajender appears to be getting isolated gradually both within and outside the BJP.

According to sources, there has not been much cooperation from the party leadership for his campaign in Huzurabad.

Even BJP state president Bandi Sanjay deferred his proposed padayatra from August 24 on the pretext of the mourning over the demise of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh.

Even the local BJP leaders are said to be half-hearted in their support to Rajender, as the latter was not spending any money on the party cadre.

On the other hand, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi has been systematically cutting down all the pillars of strength of Rajender by attracting his followers.

Already, several of Rajender’s followers deserted him and jumped into the TRS in the last few weeks. The desertions picked up speed with the entry of senior minister T Harish Rao into the scene, as they were offered money and posts in the party.

On Sunday, two more close aides of Rajender, who joined the BJP along with him, resigned from the party and announced their return to the TRS.

One of them – Pingili Ramesh, who happens to be vice-chairman of Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank, resigned from the party

Another leader – Chukka Ranjith, who had hitherto been the right hand of Rajender, also announced his resignation from the BJP. Both of them said they would be joining the TRS, as they were not able to adjust in the saffron party.

They showered praises on Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for announcing Dalit Bandhu scheme, which they described as a historic scheme.

In the next few days, more followers of Rajender are expected to jump the fence into the BJP, sources said.
