DS Attends TRS Meet: KCR Excused Him?

The crucial meeting of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)’s extended executive committee comprising MPs, MLAs and MLCs began at the Telangana Bhavan under the leadership of party president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday evening.

The meeting is expected to discuss the proposal of conducting early elections to the state. KCR will seek the opinions of all the elected leaders of the party on the proposal, besides giving them direction on the preparedness for elections.

“The meeting will all issues including the recent talk on early polls in the state and the proposed public meeting on September 2,” a senior leader of the party said.

The most interesting aspect of the Friday’s meeting was the conspicuous presence of senior TRS leader and Rajya Sabha member D Srinivas.

It has been almost two months since DS, as the former Pradesh Congress Committee president is popularly known, has been out of the party activities, ever since KCR’s daughter and Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha gave a complaint to her father demanding his sacking from the party for his alleged anti-party activities.

DS made desperate bids to meet KCR, but could not get the audience. He has been virtually ostracised from the party.

While his younger son and Bharatiya Janata Party leader D Aravind has been under fire from the TRS leaders of Nizamabad for his anti-KCR remarks, his elder son D Sanjay has been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual harassment of girl students in his nursing college.

It was a virtual harassment of DS, who has at one stage, decided to walk out of the party. But he refrained from doing so for his own reasons. At this stage, his appearance at the TRS extended executive committee meeting surprised the media persons.

It is not exactly known whether he came there uninvited or the office people sent a message to him, too, along with the other MPs as a routine practice or whether he had any patch-up with the TRS president.

Let us wait and see!
