YSR Congress party leader Y S Sharmila, sister of party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday announced postponement of her 'Paramarsha Yatra' (Tour to call on families of those who had committed suicide following untimely death of late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy) in Nalgonda district.
According to party MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, the second phase of ‘Paramarsha Yatra’ of Sharmila, scheduled to resume from February 18 from Nalgonda district has been postponed due to election code in the district. He said the revised date will be announced shortly.
Now, one wonders how the election code comes in the way of Sharmila’s attempt to console families. All that she has to do is to visit the families of victims and call on them. There is absolutely no politics involved in it, nor does she make any political speeches and make promises.
“After all, it is her personal visit and has nothing to do with the YSR Congress party. There will be no code hurdle to her tour, unless she wants to make political speeches and take political mileage out of it,” a political observer said.
