There is not much of a difference in the approaches of Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) led by Raj Thackeray and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by KCR.
While Raj Thackeray holds the North Indians in Maharashtra and especially Mumbai, responsible for the backwardness of the Maratha people, KCR directed his tirade against the Seemandhra people.
The core objective in both instances was the same: political power.
While this strategy paid off for KCR, unfortunately it did not work for Raj Thackeray.
Refusing to endorse Raj Thackeray’s politics of hatred and division against their fellow countrymen, the Maharashtra people voted overwhelmingly in favor of Modi thus subscribing to the politics of development and inclusiveness.
That the MNS could win only one seat out of 288 speak the story! If only the people of Telangana were as mature as those of Maharashtra!
