Defections: Mind Game Or Master Plan?

The YSR Congress party leadership on Saturday struggled hard to keep its flock together in the wake of reports that a few of its MLAs, including Nandyal legislator Bhuma Nagi Reddy and his MLA-daughter Bhuma Akhila, would be jumping fence into the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh.

Senior YSRC leaders Y V Subba Reddy, Vijaya Sai Reddy and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy held hectic parley with Bhuma and other MLAs from Kurnool district.

By evening, some of the MLAs addressed a press conference and denied the reports that they would be joining the TDP. They said the rumours were part of TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu’s mind game with the YSRC.

However, latest reports indicated that as many as eight MLAs, including Bhuma and Akhila, would join the TDP on February 28. If that is correct, it would be a master plan of Chandrababu Naidu to demoralise the YSR Congress party.

Earlier, five YSRC MLAs from Kurnool S V Mohan Reddy, Gouru Sucharitha, Jayaramulu, Budda Rajashekar Reddy and Ijayya told media that the rumors were being spread to divert the people’s attention from the TDP misrule.

They said they had won the elections on YSRCP ticket and would remain with it under any circumstances. They said they have complete trust on their leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

“This is nothing but “mind game” of Naidu who was day in and day out was unleashing misinformation campaign against the YSRCP to bring about insecurity problem in the Opposition party,” they said.
