When former MP from Peddapalli in Karimnagar district G Vivek shifted his loyalties from the Congress to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, he gave the outdated explanation: that he wanted to become part of the KCR government's efforts to transform the state into Bangaru Telangana.
Well, there is nothing to dispute his claim. But inquiries revealed that there is more to his defection than what meets the eye.
It is learnt Vivek has been fighting for a piece of disputed land measuring five acres at Banjara Hills for quite some time.
The land in question is supposed to be the government land, but Vivek bought it long ago. While inviting him into the TRS, KCR is learnt to have promised to regularise the land in the name of Vivek and within no time, the latter defected into the ruling party.
Though Vivek has denied these rumours doing rounds in the social media, sources say it is indeed true. The TRS president has also promised to give the MP ticket to Vivek in the next elections, while shifting sitting MP Balka Suman to the Assembly.
