"How can the Prime Minister Narendra Modi give an appointment to Vijay Sai Reddy, who is an accused in several cases?" questioned Chandrababu Naidu, in the Assembly on Tuesday.
Vijay Sai Reddy is a Member of Parliament and Modi gave him an appointment on that basis. Besides, if we go back to the past, slain factionist Paritala Ravi had hundreds of cases against him, yet did not NTR make him a Minister and encourage him?
Are there no MLAs in TDP without even a single case against them? Does Naidu not meet them regularly? In fact, Naidu himself is an accused in the cash-for-vote scandal.
Therefore, the question of guilt is best left to the judiciary. Until then, there is nothing to cry about if the Prime Minister meets a Member of Parliament.
In this instance, Naidu’s rant seems to be borne more out of jealousy than anything else along with a sense of apprehension that the PM has time for Naidu’s bitter rivals but not for him.
