A cabinet reshuffle is on the cards as part of which Deputy Chief Minister, Chinna Rajappa who is also the ‘Home Minister’ might be stripped of the portfolio of ‘Home’.
In fact, his appointment as Home Minister came as a surprise to many in the TDP who complained about it time and again to Naidu and Lokesh. But the truth of the matter is that the unofficial ‘Home Minister’ is actually Lokesh.
It is Lokesh who has been running the Ministry from behind the scenes and he has apparently gotten so good at it that he has all vital data at his fingertips.
So, Chinna Rajappa might be packed off to another harmless Ministry or just be relegated to the status of a toothless deputy CM. But ironically, the current arrangement suits the TDP just fine.
With Chinaa Rajappa, Lokesh can call all the shots. Making a capable or intelligent fellow as the Home Minister would be unwise from Chandrababu’s point of view keeping in mind the long-term interests of Lokesh.
Maybe, Chandrababu will decide to retain Rajappa after all despite opposition to Rajappa from within the Party.
