The meeting of power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at the latter’s camp office at Pragathi Bhavan in Begumpet on Monday night, has become a hot news in the political circles and of course, provided a lot of masala to the media.
Officially, Pawan came all the way to the residence of KCR, for the first time, just to greet him on the New Year Day.
Definitely it was a big surprise to everybody, since he had never greeted KCR on the New Year Day in the past and everybody knows his antagonism towards Telangana formation by splitting the combined Andhra Pradesh state almost four years ago.
What is more surprising is that Pawan had to wait for more than an hour at KCR’s residence, since the chief minister had been to Raj Bhavan to greet the Governor.
Nobody, more so a busy person like Pawan Kalyan, would wait for an hour just to extend New Year wishes. But he had not only waited for so long, but also spent another two hours with KCR.
Again, the official statement says Pawan had discussed the concept of free 24X7 power supply to agriculture sector commenced by the KCR government from Monday.
As usual, the CMO said Pawan was all praises for KCR’s administrative capabilities and his commitment to fulfil the promises made to the people of Telangana during the separate statehood movement in a systematic manner.
Pawan told the media later that KCR was a role model for all the other chief ministers and the 24×7 power supply scheme is a case study for the entire nation.
It is learnt Pawan had a different agenda in meeting KCR so hurriedly.
According to sources, producer-distributor Dil Raju had earlier met KCR’s son and IT minister K T Rama Rao seeking permission for theatres to increase the ticket prices for Pawan’s film Agyathavasi slated for release next week.
However, KTR politely refused the plea stating that he would not be able take the decision on ticket prices since it might send a wrong signal to the people for the simple reason that Pawan Kalyan is also a political leader, besides an actor. Since it is a sensitive issue, it would be better he approached the chief minister.
That is precisely the reason why Pawan had to come down to meet KCR directly and request for increasing the ticket prices for at least in the first two weeks.
And he had to praise KCR on the power front and administration to get his work done!
