Buggana Slaps Privilege Notices To TDP Leaders

YSR Congress party MLA and Public Accounts Committee chairman Buggana Rajendranath Reddy on Tuesday served notices on Telugu Desam Party MLA Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao and Rajya Sabha MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar on charges of breach of privilege of his legislative rights.

Yarapathineni and Kanakamedala made allegations that Buggana had gone to New Delhi to hold secret parleys with the Bharatiya Janata Party top leaders and handed over the notes and files pertaining to the state government’s departmental accounts so as to help the BJP seek CBI inquiry into the alleged misappropriation of Central government funds.

As a PAC chairman, Buggana has access to all the accounts of the state government.

The YSRC MLA took offensive of these allegations. In his privilege notice, he charged the TDP leaders with damaging his reputation, thereby causing a breach of his privileges as a legislator and PAC chairman.

He sent the copy of the complaint to the state assembly secretary, seeking action against the TDP MLA and MP.

Buggana also challenged the TDP leaders to prove their allegations against him.

“If they do it, I will resign from my assembly membership. But, if they can’t, will the TDP leaders resign?” he asked.

The YSRC leader accused the TDP leaders of making baseless allegations that the YSRC was dancing to the tunes of the BJP.

“In fact, the TDP itself is still continuing its secret relations with the BJP. In order to cover up their loopholes, they are slinging mud at YSRC,” he alleged.
