The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is reportedly planning to give a 'Sravana masam' shock to the opposition Congress and BJP in Telangana.
The BRS leadership is said to be holding 'secret meetings' with disgruntled leaders from Congress and BJP, convincing them to join BRS during the auspicious month of "Sravana masam."
Currently, Ashada Masam is underway, considered 'inauspicious,' and will end on July 17. This is the reason for the delay in leaders from other parties joining BRS.
Sravana Masam will begin on July 18, and prominent leaders from BJP and Congress are expected to join BRS anytime after that.
BJP MLA from Dubbak, M. Raghunandan Rao, former Lok Sabha member G. Vivek Venkataswamy, and former minister A Chandrashekar are reportedly in touch with BRS leadership and have expressed their willingness to join the party.
From Congress, Sangareddy MLA Jagga Reddy is also said to be willing to join BRS. Jagga Reddy, who has a strained relationship with TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy, is planning to quit Congress and join BRS.
BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has reportedly assigned his son K.T. Rama Rao and nephew T. Harish Rao to negotiate with disgruntled leaders from Congress and BJP, convincing them to join BRS.
The party is offering MLA and MP tickets to contest the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha polls, as well as nominated posts in the government.
Following Congress's victory in the recent Karnataka Assembly polls, there has been a rush of disgruntled leaders from BRS and BJP to join Congress. BRS aims to shock both Congress and BJP by engineering the defection of top leaders from their parties.
Speculations suggest that BRS leaders are also in touch with BJP leader and actress Vijayashanthi, who is reportedly upset with the BJP leadership for removing Bandi Sanjay from the BJP state president post and giving more prominence to Etala Rajender, a newcomer, while ignoring her.
Interestingly, all the disgruntled leaders, such as M. Raghunandan Rao, G. Vivek, Vijayashanthi, A. Chandrashekar, and Jagga Reddy, were previously associated with BRS but defected to other parties due to differences with KCR.
However, KCR, who is eyeing a 'hat trick victory' in the upcoming Assembly polls this year, wants to bridge the differences and extend an olive branch to his former friends in all parties.
