Bojjala quits MLA post, Bonda to follow?

The reshuffle of the Chandrababu Naidu cabinet has expectedly resulted in a lot of disgruntlement within the Telugu Desam Party, as those who were dropped and also those who could not make it to the final list have started expressing their anguish rather openly.

Senior minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, who made a desperate attempt to retain his position in the cabinet by meeting the chief minister along with his family members on Saturday evening, was the first person to openly express his resentment for being dropped form the cabinet on health grounds.

On Sunday morning, Bojjala dashed off his resignation letter to Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, besides the chief minister, saying he did not want to continue even as the MLA.

He said there was no point in continuing in the House which had seen him only as a minister for several decades. He, however, said he would continue as an ordinary party worker and serve the party till his last breath.

Another serious aspirant for the cabinet berth Bonda Umamaheshwar Rao also expressed his anguish for being denied the cabinet berth and said he would also quit the assembly.

However, he was being pacified by another minister P Narayana and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani when the reports last came in.

Another TDP loyalist and MLC Payyavula Kesav is also deeply anguished over being neglected in the cabinet reshuffle.

He is learnt to have decided to skip the swearing-in ceremony of his colleagues and go into hiding. His next move is not yet known.
