BJP suspecting Jana Sena's fidelity?

BJP suspecting Jana Sena's fidelity?

A couple of days ago, Jana Sena Party chief and Pawan Kalyan declared that his party would continue to have an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party and that the TDP could join the alliance if it can come a few steps down.

He even indicated that Jana Sena would form an alliance with the TDP only if the BJP is part of the alliance. At the same time, he said the Jana Sena would go it alone in the elections, if the BJP and TDP do not join hands with him.

But it appears the BJP is not believing Pawan Kalyan’s sincerity towards it.

Though Pawan says he has good equations with the BJP national leadership if not the local leaders, even the national BJP leaders are taking his comments with a pinch of salt.

It was evident from the way BJP national secretary Y Satya Kumar commented that the BJP would think about alliances at the time of elections and that it has no tradition of declaring the chief ministerial candidate of other parties.

Apparently, the BJP leadership is of the view that Pawan Kalyan might offer an empty hand to the BJP and join hands with the TDP.

“The Jana Sena Party chief is quite unpredictable. We have no faith in his commitment towards the BJP. So, we shall adopt a wait and watch approach,” a BJP leader said.

He said if Pawan Kalyan is so sincere in continuing the alliance with the BJP, he should extend his support to the BJP candidate in Atmakur assembly by-election in Nellore, as part of alliance dharma.

The state BJP leaders are aware of the fact that the national BJP leadership is friendly with the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

“As long as the YSRC extends support to the NDA in any form, there is no point in fighting against the YSRC. In any case, the BJP has little chances of improving its vote share in the next elections. So, why enter into a confrontation?” he added.
