BJP leaders in hurry to cut off ties with TDP

Within two days of the Bharatiya Janata Party emerging victorious in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections, the party leaders in Andhra Pradesh have started raising their voice against their political ally Telugu Desam Party.

Their statements give clear indication that they are in a tearing hurry to get rid of the TDP by breaking the alliance.

The aggressive attack of BJP legislator Somu Veerraju on Tuesday and his party leaders making strong comments against Naidu on Wednesday showed that they do not want to continue dosti with the TDP at all.

On Wednesday, some Andhra TDP leaders went to Union finance minister Arun Jaitely in New Delhi and complained to him about the irregularities in the Polavaram project tenders.

They brought to the notice of the minister that Naidu had fudged the figures pertaining to expenditure on Polavaram project to cover up his kickbacks taken from the contractors.

Later, they leaked to the media that Jaitely had commented that there was a lot of difference between the actual expenditure and the figures submitted by Naidu. They said the Centre would probe into the alleged irregularities in the Polavaram construction.

Another section of BJP supporters sent messages to BJP President Amit Shah stating that Naidu had sent Rs 100 crore to Gujarat Congress Party towards election fund to defeat the BJP so as to demoralise Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah.

Obviously, all these developments are an indication to the break-up of alliance between the two parties.
