BJP Chiefs Of AP, TS Rush To Delhi: What's Up?

The sudden call from New Delhi to the presidents of Bharatiya Janata Party units in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for a meeting with party’s national president Amit Shah on Thursday triggered speculation in media circles.

BJP Telangana unit president Dr K Laxman is rushing to Delhi on Wednesday evening along with BJP floor leader in the assembly G Kishan Reddy.

On the other hand, Hari Babu and BJLP leader in AP assembly P Vishnu Kumar Raju, would also be leaving from Visakhapatnam in the afternoon.

It is learnt the BJP leadership is likely to discuss with them the proposal for increasing the number of assembly seats in both the Telugu states.

As reported earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved in principle the proposal to increase the assembly seats, but sought the opinion of Amit Shah to discuss with the state leaders as to whether it would benefit the party in the Telugu states in any manner.

Apart from the increase in number of assembly seats, Shah would also discuss with the party leaders of Telangana and AP about the political situations in their respective states and the issues pertaining to alliances.

It shows the BJP leadership has started focussing on the Telugu states and may be after Karnataka elections, it would take a decision on the realignment of alliances in the Telugu states.
