Better Give Up Fast, Join Field Struggle!

Better Give Up Fast, Join Field Struggle!

It is an open secret that the primary objective of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is to defeat the Telugu Desam Party in the next assembly elections and become the next chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan and his party MPs also know pretty well that the Centre would not grant special category status come what may and all the agitations and stalling of Parliament proceedings in Delhi for the status were only part of the one-upmanship war with the TDP to gain a political upper hand.

Even the resignation of MPs and holding of indefinite hunger strike in Delhi were aimed at targeting the TDP, rather than the Bharatiya Janata Party or the NDA.

When Parliament session ended, the YSRC MPs started their indefinite hunger strike after submitting  their resignations, while the TDP MPs returned to their native stage after creating some hungama for a couple of days.

This has landed the YSRC MPs in a tricky situation. Since they are not openly criticising the BJP or Prime Minister Narendra Modi in particular, the national media stopped bothering about them.

The MPs comments on the TDP have no takers in Delhi and they soon realised that the fasting has not been serving any purpose – neither it goes into the people of the state nor does it get nation-wide attention.

That is precisely why, the fasting of the MPs came to an abrupt end. The Delhi police shifted all the five MPs one after the other to hospital on the pretext of deteriorating health conditions, the last two being P Midhun Reddy and Y Avinash Reddy, who were admitted to the hospital.

The YSRC MPs would now put up some show in the hospital for a few more days before returning to the state to take part in serious agitation at the field level.

That is the best idea!
