The Krishna River Management Board has decided to take over the irrigation projects in Telangana and naturally, KCR is a displeased man.
He has decided to take up the issue with Narendra Modi as to how the Krishna Board can take over the joint projects without the consent of Telangana. But the key thing to be noted here is that the consent of Telangana is not necessary as the Krishna Board is only following the AP Reorganization Act.
KCR in all likelihood is worried that the illegal irrigation projects he has conceived will be brought to a halt. This explains his response that Telangana is not against the Board managing the projects; it only wants the consent of the State to be taken first.
Whether TS gives it consent or not, the Krishna Board is authorized to take over the projects and it will also instill a sense of fair play into the whole proceedings.
Rayalaseema will become a desert if KCR goes ahead with his plans. Therefore, it is only proper that control be removed from his hands. And that will not be to the liking of the Telanganites, will it?
