Behind The Scene: Is MVV Still with the YSRCP?

Industrialist-turned-politician MVV Satyanarayana made a surprise entry into politics in 2018 by joining the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

Just months later, he was awarded the prestigious Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha ticket and won the 2019 election amidst the YSRCP wave.

For five years, he enjoyed a good run as an MP and was considered close to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

In fact, Jagan trusted him enough to allot him the Visakha East Assembly ticket for the 2024 elections — a constituency many other party leaders aspired for.

However, after facing defeat in the recent election, MVV has virtually disappeared from the political scene.

There is now confusion over whether he is still part of the YSRCP. His residence no longer displays any party banners or flexes. He has remained silent and distanced himself from party activities for over a year.

Interestingly, during a recent visit to Sattenapalli, Jagan mentioned MVV’s name while accusing the TDP of targeting Kamma leaders in the YSRCP. This indicates that, at least in Jagan’s view, MVV is still considered a party member.

But with no clear public statement or involvement from MVV himself, the question remains: Is he still with the YSR Congress Party or not? Only he can provide the answer.
