Balasouri quits YSRC at last, to join TDP?

Senior YSR Congress party MP Vallabhaneni Balasouri, representing Machilipatnam parliamentary constituency, resigned from the party after realising that he is not being given the party ticket either for Lok Sabha or the state assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

According to sources, Balasouri sent his resignation letter to party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, stating that he was quitting the Lok Sabha membership and the party.

In fact, Balasouri has been given the hint last year itself that he might not be getting the ticket. He has been in regular confrontation with local MLA and former minister Perni Venkatramaiah alias Perni Nani and the high command pulled him up for picking up quarrel with Nani.

When Greatandhra.com wrote about the possible exit of Balasouri from the party then, he fumed at the website and even sent a legal notice to it. But the rumour has now come true.

According to reports, Balasouri has sent feelers to the Telugu Desam Party leadership. He is said to be negotiating for an MLA ticket, rather than the MP seat, sources said.
