Arrangements in Vizag for Jagan swearing-in event?

The YSR Congress party leadership seems to be quite confident about returning to power in the recently concluded assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, with the results set to be declared on June 4.

Such is the confidence of the party leaders that they have already started making arrangements in Visakhapatnam for the swearing-in ceremony of party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as the chief minister for a second successive term, party sources said.

According to these sources, Chief Secretary K. S. Jawahar Reddy, who recently visited Visakhapatnam under the pretext of inspecting the progress of Bhogapuram International Airport, is believed to have given instructions to the district officials to identify a suitable ground for Jagan's public swearing-in ceremony.

A couple of days ago, another senior IAS officer from the chief minister’s office also visited Visakhapatnam to oversee the arrangements for Jagan’s swearing-in ceremony on June 9. He is said to have selected the Andhra University grounds for the ceremony.

Sources also said the party is reserving a large number of rooms and suites in various hotels and guest houses for June 8 and 9, anticipating a large number of leaders and guests attending Jagan’s swearing-in ceremony.

On the other hand, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is also preparing for a possible swearing-in ceremony, should the NDA come to power.

Senior leader Ganta Srinivasa Rao has already announced that Naidu would take the oath on June 9, likely in Amaravati.
