Anushka has not signed a new movie since the release of "Bhaagamathie".
The thriller became a huge hit and established the fact that Anushka doesn’t need the support of a big male star to deliver huge success. “Bhaagamathie” did wonderful theatrical business solely on her charisma and popularity.
For now, she has been sitting idle at home due to her weight issues. She will not be doing glamorous roles any more either.
Anushka has made it clear that she will either play characters that are not demanding or heroine-centric movies.
But buzz is that director Chandrasekhar Yeleti is trying to rope her in for a key role in his next movie that stars Nani as male lead.
Anushka will not be paired up with Nani, but she may have to play a crucial lengthy character. However, it would not be easy for Yeleti to convince her.
She is very choosy in picking her movies.
