Amit Shah Called Naidu To Pacify?

Why did Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who was expected to announce a decision on parting ways with the Bharatiya Janata Party, suddenly mellow down on Sunday?

Naidu reportedly spoke in strongest terms at the TD parliamentary party meeting against the attitude of the Centre.

“We waited for a very long time with a lot of patience for the last three budgets. Since this was the last budget, we expected that the Centre would address to the issues concerning the state. So, we have to register our protest,” he told the MPs.

However, Naidu spoke everything but not about breaking up of alliance with the BJP, though many MPs suggested the same.

Apparently, BJP president Amit Shah and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh are learnt to have spoken to Chandrababu Naidu in the morning one after the other before the commencement of the TDPP meeting. They are learnt to have asked Naidu not to take any hasty decision.

“We shall discuss the issues and try to get them resolved. We can understand your anguish,” they reportedly told him.

The TDP chief, however, did not raise the issue of the BJP chief or Rajnath Singh speaking to him at the TDPP meeting.

He just told the MPs that the Central leaders were in touch with him and he had strongly conveyed the people’s sentiments to the Centre.

Party sources say Naidu would like to wait till the end of the budget session before taking any final decision.
