Ambati Rayudu hints at joining YSRC?

Days after declaring that he would soon make debut into Andhra Pradesh politics, popular cricketer Ambati Tirupati Rayudu dropped a hint that he might join the ruling YSR Congress party headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

It was evident from Rayudu’s tweet on Wednesday evening in which he lavished praises on Jagan Mohan Reddy for his bold speech at Naupada in Srikakulam, where he laid foundation stone for the Mulapadu sea port.

“Great speech ..our chief minister@ysjagan garu.. everyone in the state has complete belief and trust in you sir..” was the tweet from Rayudu, hours after Jagan’s speech in Srikakulam, in which he said the people are his soldiers in his fight against the opposition parties which are attacking him like wolves.

Ambati said he would be entering the politics soon stating that it was time educated youngsters join politics to make a difference.

He said though he was brought up in Hyderabad, he was interested in fighting the Andhra elections from his native place Guntur.

There was a talk initially that Rayudu is not keen on the YSR Congress party as he made certain critical comments against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government recently. Since he hails from Kapu community, there were speculations that he might prefer the Jana Sena Party led by power star Pawan Kalyan.

At the same time, there were also rumours that he might enter Andhra politics on behalf of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, since he has close connections with the BRS leaders, especially KCR’s nephew and state finance minister T Harish Rao.

He also has close connections with BRS Andhra Pradesh unit president Thota Chandrasekhar, who is also from Guntur district. Thota, who is also a Kapu leader, is said to have acquaintances with Rayudu family.

Now that he openly praised Jagan, it is pretty evident that Rayudu might prefer the YSRCP to make his electoral debut!
