YSRCP threatened Singapore firms, alleges Lokesh

YSRCP threatened Singapore firms, alleges Lokesh

Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Thursday alleged that the YSR Congress Party was attempting to sabotage potential investments from Singapore by threatening companies through emails.

Speaking to reporters in Amaravati, Lokesh claimed that while Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was holding talks with investors in Singapore, a man named Muralikrishna sent threatening emails to Singapore-based firms.

“He emailed Singapore government officials and the High Commissioner, falsely alleging that Andhra Pradesh has an unstable government and warning them against signing agreements,” Lokesh said.

He added that investigations revealed Muralikrishna is associated with PLR Constructions, a company owned by a YSRCP leader.

“It is evident that YSRCP is deliberately attempting to disrupt the state’s investment climate,” he alleged.

Lokesh described the act as part of a broader effort by the opposition to obstruct development in the state.

He also referenced legal challenges, such as the petition against the TCS land allotment, as further examples of attempts to derail economic progress.

He criticized YSRCP for persistently creating legal and political obstacles that deter investors, warning that such actions are harming Andhra Pradesh’s development and international reputation.

Responding to Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remarks about an "emergency-like" situation in the state, Lokesh questioned, “If there really is an emergency, would Jagan even be able to walk outside?”

He reminded reporters that during Jagan’s tenure, even the gates of Naidu’s house were locked by the police.

“If we deploy police for security, they call it suppression. If we don’t, they say there’s no security,” Lokesh said.

He further questioned Jagan’s character, asking, “Can a person who wronged his own mother and sister be called a true leader?”

When asked whether Jagan would be arrested in the liquor scam case, Lokesh replied, “The law will take its own course.”
