YSRC plenary: Resolution on Dushta Chatushtayam

The two-day plenary of the ruling YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to give a new direction to the party leaders and cadre, ahead of the next assembly elections in 2024.

The party is going to discuss various issues concerning the party and the state and chalk out an action plan as to how to go about in the next two years in retaining the confidence of the people.

According to YSRC general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy said more than five lakh people, including party workers at the grassroots level and leaders at various levels right from polling both level to the state committee level, besides MPs, MLAs, MLCs and chairpersons of various corporations would attend the plenary.

During the two days, the plenary would adopt, in all, nine resolutions, including women’s empowerment vis-à-vis Disha Act, education, Navaratnalu-DBT schemes, health, administration-transparency, social empowerment, agriculture and industries-incentives.

The interesting resolution is the ninth one – Yellow Media and Dushta Chatushtayam. It would discuss the role of pro-Telugu Desam Party media which has been unleashing the negative campaign against the Jagan government.

This resolution, which would be debated by– Ambati Rambabu, Jogi Ramesh, Kodali Nani, Perni Nani and actor Posani Krishna Murali, who are known for their aggressive attack on the TDP and its president N Chandrababu Naidu.

The hour-long discussion on this resolution is aimed at running down the TDP president and three of his supporting media houses – Eenadu, Andhra Jyothy and TV5, which Jagan refers to as “Dushta Chatushtayam” (Gang of Four) and countering the negative campaign by them.

Though it was believed that there would be an exclusive resolution on decentralised administration and three capitals, it has not been mentioned in the agenda.

Maybe, the leaders will raise the issue during the discussion on administration and transparency.
