Yes, I told my views to Naidu on Amaravati: Pawan

Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday admitted that he had expressed his views to chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the additional land pooling for Amaravati capital city expansion.

“Yes, I have already discussed the issue of land pooling in Amaravati with the chief minister and he had agreed with my views,” Pawan told reporters at his chambers in the state secretariat.

He said he had proposed that the government should involve all stakeholders as partners in the development process and convince the people on land pooling before taking any decision.

“The chief minister responded positively,” he said.

Pawan Kalyan reminded that the ruling alliance came to power with a clear commitment to declare Amaravati as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh, and hence, any controversial decisions should be avoided.

Pawan emphasized that the government's focus is on public welfare and state development.

The deputy CM launched a scathing attack on YSR Congress party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy over the liquor policy implemented during his tenure as chief minister.

He questioned why Jagan failed to implement the promised liquor prohibition after coming to power.

Accusing the previous government of allowing liquor to flow freely across the state, Pawan Kalyan said several lives were lost due to consumption of spurious liquor.

“Many victims had approached the Jana Sena party office and added that many arrests were now being made in the liquor scam,” he said.

He lashed out at the YSRCP leaders for speaking in a threatening tone and said no one was afraid of such “paper tigers.”

“We have faced much bigger challenges before. We have fought hard battles and earned this public mandate. Why is the corrupt YSRCP leadership still shouting?” he asked.
