There are many such political incidents in India to which the common people will never know the real reasons.
The latest political suspense to which any answer might not be offered in the near term is the abrupt resignation of former Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar.
Although Dhankar himself said he was resigning for ‘medical’ reasons, there are not many people convinced.
It was an overnight and instantaneous decision to have the Vice-President removed from office and this was taken even without consulting the RSS.
So what did the former VP do that resulted in such a swift rebuttal? Or was it a culmination of many things that had been simmering for a time between the Centre and him? In all likelihood, we shall never know the real reasons.
However, the VP was present as the Chief Guest at a book launch event of a RSS leader recently where he was effusive in his praise of the RSS and polite about the Modi government.
Incidentally, Dhankar has never been part of the RSS in any official capacity. Therefore, his presence at the event makes it clear that his fallout was entirely with Modi and Amit Shah and had nothing to do with the Sangh.
What’s more, when Dhankar landed in Indore for the event, there were RSS Pracharaks to receive him but not a single BJP worker.
Maybe, one day when he decides to write his memoirs, the people of India will truly know what went wrong between him and the government.
