What Next, Mr Raghurama Raju?

Having failed to visit Bhimavaram, his home town, after two-and-a-half years of his election on July 4, the debate now in Andhra Pradesh is on rebel MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju’s next move.

The MP despite his tall claims and challenges for more than a fortnight to the AP government, AP police and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy over his plans to visit Bhimavaram, he ended up not visiting the state.

He abruptly ended his train travel and left for Delhi, accusing the chief minister of planning to set the train coach, in which he was travelling, on fire.

He did approach the Prime Minister’s Office to get clearance to be seated next to the Prime Minister at the Bhimavaram meeting.

He got his security increased from Y category to Z category for five days from July 2 to 7, in view of his visit to Bhimavaram.

He wrote to the Union Ministry of Tourism and Culture to make sure that his name is there in the invitees list and also on the plaque of Alluri Sitarama Raju’s statue, which the Prime Minister unveiled.

He was on the media everyday hurling abuses and throwing challenges to the chief minister to face him at the meeting.

Having failed to make it, he resumed his daily abuses through the media. While he will be continuing to do this daily media talk, the debate is what exactly the rebel MP would do next!

The ruling YSR Congress and the opposition TDP in the state have already gone into the election mode, though there is comfortable time for these parties to go for the elections in March-April 2024.

He would hardly get any chance to visit his home constituency in the next 20 months to make July 4 sort of attempt!
