Vizag Beach Road To Connect Bhogapuram

The new executive capital of Andhra Pradesh, Visakhapatnam, is all set to the basic infrastructure upgraded, even before the administration moves to this port city. 

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had cleared the proposal to upgrade and strengthen the Visakhapatnam beach with an eye on the international tourists. 

The beach would be extended to Bhimili now, while the beach road would be connected to the Bhogapuram airport. 

Even as the work on Bhogapuram international airport begins, the government wants to have a six-lane road connecting the airport with the port city. 

Beach Corridor Project was cleared by the chief minister to extend the beach to Bhimili and lay the connecting road to Bhogapuram.  

The chief minister also cleared the Metro rail project for Visakhapatnam. The metro rail project would also be connected to Bhogapuram airport. 

The officials have prepared the DPR at Rs 14,000 crore covering 76.9 kilometers from Steel Plant gate to Bhogapuram.  

Besides, the chief minister had also asked the officials to complete the pipeline works from Polavaram project to provide drinking water to the new executive capital.  

As the chief minister plans to shift the administration to Visakhapatnam in the next couple of months, the government wants to provide or at least start providing infrastructure to the city to meet the requirements.
