If you are a journalist, one expects you to be impartial in your approach towards politics.
Even if you are working for a media house which has a political leaning, you are expected to be apolitical at least on social media or on independent forums, though you may have to follow the management line officially.
But Parvathaneni Venkata Krishna, associate editor of ABN Andhra Jyothy channel has displayed more-loyal-than-the-king attitude with his postings on social media platform Twitter, while commenting on the attacks on the Telugu Desam Party offices, allegedly by the YSR Congress party workers on Tuesday.
He appeared to be more anguished than TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu himself about the attacks on the TDP offices and activists by the YSRC cadres.
While condemning the attacks, Venkata Krishna suspected that the attacks could have been the handiwork of political strategist Prashant Kishor who is presently working for YSR Congress party.
“My dear @PrashantKishor hope u got the info about wt happened in #andhrapradesh. @YSRCParty cadres attacked @JaiTDP offices leaders throughout the state. ppl of AP suspecting ur strategy behind this. If it so, as a sr journo, requesting u plz don’t come to AP… act as democrat,” he tweeted.
Within no time, Venkata Krishna came under heavy trolling by netizens, who wondered whether he is journalist or a TDP activist. He was even ridiculed for referring himself to as senior journalist and asking Prashant to act as a democrat.
