TDP Leaders Extorting Bribes From Industries?

Former MP and YSRCP Political Affairs Committee member Talari Rangaiah on Wednesday alleged that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, including ministers, are pressuring industrialists to pay kickbacks and commissions for setting up and operating their businesses.

“The coalition government is endangering Andhra Pradesh’s industrial and social fabric. TDP leaders are extorting industrialists — including Kia in Rayalaseema — by demanding contracts, commissions, and jobs, which risks factory closures and potential relocation,” Rangaiah alleged while addressing the media.

He said this is far from the visionary governance promised by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Rangaiah accused the coalition government of plundering the state's resources, including sand, quartz, and liquor, while simultaneously stifling genuine efforts at wealth creation.

He further condemned the government for favoring party loyalists in welfare schemes, betraying the principle of impartial governance.

He pointed out that the number of pension beneficiaries is declining and that field assistants, animators, and contractors are facing removal — contradicting the government’s claims of job creation.

Rangaiah contrasted this with the previous YSRCP government under Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, claiming it delivered transparent welfare through direct benefit transfers, free from corruption, and guided by merit-based systems like the Poverty Identification of Poor (PIP).

He also criticized the coalition’s newly introduced ‘PPP’ model, calling it a deceptive tactic designed to exclude citizens not aligned with the ruling parties from accessing benefits.

“This corrupt governance threatens both industry and the livelihoods of citizens,” Rangaiah said, urging immediate action to protect Andhra Pradesh’s economic and social well-being.
